YEREVAN. – “According to our information, Armenia’s former PM, [opposition bloc Armenian National Congress’] ANC [National Assembly] NA Faction member Hrant Bagratyan is preparing to run in the presidential elections to be held in 2013,” 168 Zham daily reports.

“[But] Bagratyan will not resort to this step only in one case: if ANC leader [and First President] Levon Ter-Petrosyan nominates his candidacy.

But, according to our sources, he will not give up his intention if, instead of Ter-Petrosyan, another candidate is nominated from ANC, or if the Congress decides to support [Prosperous Armenia Party] PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan.

If Hrant Bagratyan really nominates his candidacy, this will result in the ANC’s next, perhaps also final, split. Bagratyan himself refuses to speak about this publicly, but he openly and honestly speaks about his [respective] intentions with the ANC-member MPs and the representatives from other political forces,” 168 Zham writes.
