YEREVAN. – If anyone desires to establish a parliament committee on the March 1, 2008 case [when 10 people, including two servicemen and eight demonstrators, were killed during rally in downtown Yerevan], he can do it, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Samvel Nikoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He believes the initiative by the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP Gagik Jhangiryan is acceptable.

“If there is necessity, let it be established,” he said preferring not to express his viewpoint on the importance of the establishment of new commission.

In response to how he would vote for the initiative, Nikoyan said he would decide once the project is ready. To note, Jhangiryan is going to submit a bill on the establishment of temporary commission for investigating the tragic events in 2008 March.
