YEREVAN. – Friendship and peace park on the border between Armenia and Iran is of symbolic and at the same time of ecological importance, Nature Protection Minister Aramayis Grigoryan told reporters.
“The green territory will become a corridor for animal migration through Armenia-Iran border, through Aras River,” the Minister said.
Grigoryan told reporters that the idea of a new conservation area has been recently discussed with Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reisi.
The idea of a joint park of friendship was voiced by the former minister Aram Harutyunyan during his working visit to Iran in February. The Armenian side has already defined six routes for animal migration through Aras River.
