YEREVAN. – A motion to provide the case materials is being discussed during Tuesday’s court hearing of the criminal case against Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan and several other former senior officials.

The court started discussing the motion by Sergey Yeghiazaryan, an injured party in the case. The content of the petition was presented by his legal representative. The motion concerns the provision of the full volume of case materials. The representative recalled that the petition was submitted earlier and was left without discussion.

The legal representative clarified that these case materials were necessary to establish his client's connection with each of the defendants.

After listening to the legal representative, the court once again left this motion without discussion.

The defendants in this criminal case—Robert Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, and former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov—are accused of overthrowing the constitutional order. This case is part of the criminal case on the tragic events that occurred in Yerevan on March 1, 2008, and it is considered in a separate proceeding.
