Number of visitors of Istanbul museums in 2010 was 11 million 662 thousand, which brought $ 600 million in revenues.

According to Turkish Zaman newspaper, Topkapi Palace was the most visited museum. Over 3.5 million people visited it in 2010, providing $ 20 million in revenues.

In the second place was the Hagia Sophia, with revenue of $ 17 million.

Dolmabahce Palace, built by Karapet Palyan has left its unique mark on the architecture of the Ottoman Empire. It was attended by 836 thousand visitors, 318 thousand of whom were Turkish citizens.
