Presidential elections in Iran will be held on 28 June. This was announced by Mohsen Eslami, spokesman for Iran's election headquarters, Mehr reports.

Snap presidential elections in Iran will be held in connection with the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in the crash of his helicopter on 19 May in the Iranian province of East Azerbaijan, TASS recalls. Foreign Minister Hosein Amir Abdollahian, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati, Friday Imam of Tabriz city Mohammad Ali Ale Hashem and the head of the presidential guard were flying with him. All passengers and crew of the helicopter were killed.
