The Jeep brand will no longer install V-twin engines on Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs—and starting from the 2025 model year, Mopar Insiders reports.

The updated Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L will have updated 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engines for all models. These engines will replace the larger HEMI V8 and Pentastar V6 across the lineup.

This measure is introduced to optimize and streamline the Grand Cherokee's powertrain in the face of tighter vehicle emissions requirements in the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.

From 2021, only one version of this American SUV is equipped with a four-cylinder turbo engine, with a plug-in hybrid.
