We join our European allies in calling on Georgia not to adopt legislation that contradicts the desire of the absolute majority of Georgian citizens for full integration into the European Union. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated.

According to Miller, as stated by the EU, the adoption of this law could jeopardize Georgia's progress toward the European Union.

"We are deeply disappointed by the Georgian parliament's decision to promote the Kremlin-inspired law "On Foreign Influence." As the European Union has stated, the adoption of this law could jeopardize Georgia's progress toward EU membership.
