Zhoghovurd daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in part: The report published by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor of the US Department of State addressed also the missing citizens, both from the Armenian side and from the Azerbaijani.

"The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has compiled data on missing persons due to the conflict with Azerbaijan and has worked with the government to develop a single list of missing persons.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, since the 1990s, as a result of the conflict, about 4,931 Armenians and Azerbaijanis are considered missing, of which 761 are Armenians.

According to the government, as of the end of the year, 195 people (including 20 civilians) are considered missing after the 2020 military operations, and 2 more servicemen are considered missing after the September 2022 military operations. 42 Armenians (including 12 civilians) are considered missing after the September 19 attack [by Azerbaijan]."

Let us add that 80 unconfirmed Armenian captives are noted unofficially.

The RA prime minister, who already held a press conference twice in 2024, could not clearly define what discussions were held regarding the return of captives. He simply said: "There were discussions, but I cannot say with whom and what we discussed."
