At a press briefing Wednesday, Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), answered the question regarding the holding of the first Armenia-BRICS international forum dedicated to the economic cooperation of Armenia with this association.

"It is about the initiative of non-governmental organizations, which they considered it important and interesting for them to hold such a forum; in my opinion, within the framework of a very appropriate topic, considering our presidency in BRICS. Therefore, we welcome any interest from civil society in different countries who want to become conductors of interesting interstate projects at their level without such a state component," said Zakharova, in particular.

At the same time, according to her, as for the Western, EU presence, "everything that will benefit the people of Armenia is, of course, only welcome."

"The main thing is that, as always, the bloodthirsty wolf or the saber-toothed tiger should not hide under the sheep's clothing with all these chants of the EU; that's the problem," Maria Zakharova added, in particular.
